Set up to Fail?

By Jon Deridder

I was doing some thinking the other day about my life. I was looking at the good and the bad. One thing that stuck me was how many times I had set up to fail. What I mean by this, I didn't train myself for success. I started countless projects in affiliate and network marketing. That flopped to put it simple. Like many I wanted more out of life than some dead end job. Not only did I want more for me, I wanted more for my family. I had always want to help other, so I think that is what drew me to network marketing. I saw that if you could find a product or service that you loved and would use it no matter what. I found that in many of the companies I have joined. So what was missing? Who was to blame, me! I didn't take the time to learn the new skills I needed. I started to invest in myself and that is when things started to change. Just like a good company invests in its employees, so must the business owner invest in their own training to stay on top of their game plan. There are many low cost ways to invest in yourself to. One of my favorites is the library. I can go there and find many books to read for free. The last thing I would say is find a mentor or hire a business coach, someone that has fruit on the tree.

As long as there is progress there is no failure. It may take you longer to get there than some but eventually you will get there if you do not stop. IMHO

Yes, I had to learn to keep going. I also had to learn to grow as a person and bring more value. I also had to learn what Winston Churchill said "Never, never, never give up." It is easy to throw in the towel.

Another Winston Churchill quote: "Success means going from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm"

Thanks Larry. He has so many great quotes! It wasn't until about 5 years I ago when I was introduced to personal development and mentorship. That is when it changed for me.
